Design and Looks
On the outside, the Z320i looks similar to the Z250i, some may even go as far as saying the simpler and cheaper 250i is more stylish than its big brother, tastes being subjective, let's leave it at that.
The phone's appearance can be altered with exchangeable covers and SE offers some really cool designs, this must explain why the basic get-up is this simple.
The keypad layout on the 320i is similar to the 250i but the 320i has separate push-buttons as opposed to the virtually flat keypad on the 250i, this is a vast improvement over the basic model making texting easier.
Like the 250i, the 320i has an icon display on the front flap indicating four different events. When the event occurs, the appropriate icon lights up, for example, when a new message is received, the icon for 'new message' lights up. This is very convenient indeed and lets users keep abreast of things without having to unhinge the flap every now and then checking for missed calls and such.
The phone has a very basic camera with a resolution of 1.3MP. Photos taken with this camera are fine but videos are of the poorest quality, so when Sony Ericsson brands this model as a video camera phone, they're just paying lip service. It's almost as if SE has incorporated the camera to simply augment the phone's best feature- MMS. The camera interface even has a direct link to the MMS function which is suggestive that the phone's camera is meant for this purpose. Then, like in the 250i, there's the lack of Bluetooth, which isn't excusable at all.
The phone serves the very basic purpose of calling and messaging in addition to letting users experience a little bit of mobile photography. It's a great phone if you want a no-frills cell with a little added extra.
