Design and Looks
The design of the Sony Ericsson T715i stands at dimensions of 91.5x48.0x14.9mm with a weight of 96.5g. The phone is light and slips in and out easily through all pocket sizes. The device features nice rounded corners which are right-angled and provide a good grip in your hands.
The slider reveals the keypad on the phone which is a combination of 3 by 4 rows and provides a good experience with its surface texture. The alphanumeric keypad has its keys slightly raised above the layout and gives a nice rubbery feedback when typing. The backlighting on the keypad stands out to be average.
The screen on the phone comes at a resolution of 240x320 pixels. The QVGA screen provides good brightness and contrast with its 256K colors. The sunlight eligibility on the phone is good and the phone does a nice job even in direct sunlight.
The multimedia feature on the phone includes a 3.2 megapixel sensor which does a decent job with the picture quality. The phone also includes a digital zoom of 3.2x. For low light conditions the phone also includes a Flash which can assist low light photography to an extent. There is geo tagging included on the phone which would let you add the information to the photos with your current location and time.
Some other functionality on the phone includes the Photo fix which has features such as optimization of image quality, adjustment of light balance and contrast. There is also send to web option on the phone which lets you upload your pictures directly to your favorite blog or website.
The music player on the phone provides some really good quality and with the included earphone it even sounds much better. The music player supports Album art and comes along with the proprietary MegaBass feature. There is also FM radio included onboard that uses the RDS which would provide the song information along with the station name.
On the connectivity front the T715i is a quad band phone having 3G support for its blazing fast web surfing. The device also contains the Bluetooth and USB connection for local connectivity.
Overall the phone is a good design and covers a nice set of features including a decent camera and the walkman player. Moreover the 3G support is a great add on for people who need to be connected on the go.
