Design and Looks
The design of the phone is sleek and comes with a good grip in your palms. The dimension of the phones stand at 176x220 pixels and the screen measures at 2.0 inches. The phone offers a candy bar form factor and has a good surface texture.
The keyboard on the phone is an alphanumeric keypad with the keys equally spaced between each other and provide a good tactile feedback. The screen on the phone measures to be up to 2inches and has the capacity to display 256K colors. The display on the screen is bright and vibrant. The phone also does a good job with sunlight eligibility and is visible even in direct sunlight.
There is a small navigation tool available which works as a dedicated music key.
On the multimedia front the phone contains a good music player which is capable of playing MP3/AAC/MP4 player and it does offer a nice audible output along with crisp and clear audio clarity.
Also included is the stereo FM Radio with RDS. The Sony Ericsson K630i features a moderate 2MP camera and takes shots with maximum resolution of 1600x1200 pixels. The camera interface is simple and does not require a lot of fiddling around to get a proper shot. The images shot come up with average quality and do a decent job comparing the resolution of the camera.
On the communication side the phone is a tri band device and supports SMS,EMS,MMS , Email , Instant Messaging and GPRS/EDGE/3G. Sadly there is no Wi-Fi on board. For local connectivity the phone offers Bluetooth and USB support.
The handset is available in Havana Gold and Quick Black and has a support for external Memory Stick Micro M2 expansion slot and push email capabilities.
The phone is not a camera phone or a walkman series from Sony Ericsson but gives the consumer a little bit of both the worlds. Overall a mid-range phone targeting the mid range segment.
