Design and Looks
The design of the phone is as good as the entry level phones with minimalistic feature set surface finish. The handset is all plastic and offers rounded edges on the corners. The phone does give a good grip and stays firm in your palms. The dimensions of the phone stand at 103x46x17mm and weighs about 82g.
The front of the display features a 1.6 inch screen which has a maximum resolution of 128x128 pixels. The display is pretty ordinary and does an average job in direct sunlight. The colors aren't that great but for an entry level the phone , there is nothing more you can ask.
The keypad on the device is the ordinary 3 by 4 alphanumeric keypad which has a plastic texture and can be slippery when using at faster speeds. The keys seemed to be crammed in and need a harder press to register your keystrokes.
The internal memory on the phone consists of 20 received records, dialed and missed calls. The phone does not have any support for extended memory as there is no expansion slot given by the company on the phone.
On the communication front the phone is a dual band phone and operates at GSM 850/1900 frequencies. There is GPRS on board but there is no support for EDGE , 3G or WLAN . For local connection the company houses the USB and Infrared port and the exclusion of Bluetooth which is disappointing.
The Camera on the phone is standard VGA camera with 640x480 pixel resolution which is very ordinary considering the mega pixel race around among the top brands. The pictures are as expected from a VGA and do not produce goo images in low light conditions.
The phone sports SMS, MMS and EMAIL facilities and the browser on the phone is a WAP 2.0/xhtml. There is Organizer, stopwatch, timer and T9 also available on the handset.
The battery on the device gives a good 7 hours of talk time and up to 300 hours of stand-by time.
Overall the phone seems to be a good secondary phone for most users who would like to use it for calling and texting purposes only. If you're looking for a secondary phone there are lots of them out there which could prove out to be better than the K205.
