Design and Looks
The phone is designed to be pocket friendly. Weighing at 136g the phone comes with glossy plastic frame. There is a touch of chrome around the D-pad , the edge of the phone and across the back panel.
The C903 has a 2.4'' 256k color TFT display of QVGA resolution and also sports a scratch resistant surface. Sunlight legibility is excellent even under direct sunlight.
The highlight of the phone is the back side. The camera and the LED flash are revealed by sliding down the cover that occupies the whole back of the phone. The sliding mechanism is smooth and starts the camera immediately.
The phone features a 5 megapixel camera capable of producing images with maximum resolution of 2592x1944 pixels. The volume keys on the side double up as a zoom rocker for the 16x digital zoom. It also features the autofocus that seems to work pretty well.
The video recording is available in QVGA resolution at up to 30 frames per second. The phone is not a walkman featured but does a decent job with its onboard musical player for casual-on go listening. The player supports numerous file formats, including the regularly used MP3, WAV, WMA, M4A and E-AAC plus the MegaBass equalizer preset and Stereo widening.
The C903 comes with the accelerometer which makes sure that the screen rotates with desired applications on the phone. The screen rotation is fast and responsive.
The handset features an internal storage of 130MB, and there is no memory card supplied. The expansion cards up to 16GB are supported.
Onboard GPS works with some of the pre-installed applications but the response is not quick compared to other phones available in the market with this functionality.
The browsing capabilities of the phone stand mediocre, more flash heavy websites will not render fully but the mobile optimized sites such as BBC will just go fine with the NetFront browser.
The phone has an average battery performance, with regards to its multimedia capabilities; the C903 comes equipped with flash media center. The setting menu is simple and one may opt for portrait landscape or auto-rotate modes.
Overall the phone is a good performer with its 5 megapixel camera which is easy to use and takes a good snap. The materials made use of, the design and features offered give a very satisfied look to the phone.
